After five years of not being able to see enough to read, Dr. Jacobi returned me to this favorite hobby.  As a retired librarian, I became so depressed during those five years.  Thank goodness my daughter discovered D. Jacobi and his services!​​​​​​​

I was sixteen when Dr. Jacobi saw me for the first time.  I have a disease called Stargardt’s that made it almost impossible for me to get a driver’s license.  But, he prescribed me some telescopes and I have been driving ever since.​​​​​​​

I am a commercial butcher that owns a large meat wholesale business.  My whole life is dedicated to my craft.  However, I was ready to call it quits because of my diabetic retinopathy.  My lack of sight was becoming a safety issue.  But, after Dr. Jacobi gave me some reading telescopes, I could see where I was cutting into the meat.​​​​​​​

My retinitis pigmentosa threatened my ability to drive, but after I received some driving telescopes, I was able to safely continue driving.​​​​​​​

Losing my ability to play bridge was devastating.  I just became too self-conscious about not being able to see the cards.  My macular degeneration made it impossible to make out the cards.  I gave up for almost a year until my ophthalmologist referred me to Dr. Jacobi.  After receiving my devices I was back to my winning ways!​​​​​​​

Dr. Jacobi was able to expand my ability to see to my left side after my stroke.  What an odd feeling to lose half of your sight and find yourself literally running in to walls.​​​​​​​

As a priest, I found it very difficult to say mass because macular degeneration robbed me of my straight-ahead sight.  I couldn’t read the scriptures or my homily notes.  But Dr. Jacobi came up with the most creative solutions to restore me to my duties.  God Bless Dr.!​​​​​​​

I am back to driving, watching television and reading!  Dr. Jacobi was right, he gave me the ugliest glasses I would love!  I have diabetes retina disease.​​​​​​​

I was so frustrated without being able to see my computer.  My employer was as frustrated.  I was on the verge of losing my job.  Dr. Jacobi was able to fit me with computer reading telescopes and now my employer and I are a lot happier! My rod-cone dystrophy hasn’t stopped me yet!​​​​​​​

When I retired all I wanted to do was paint.  Then, after being retired for six months, I woke one morning with a rare condition that damaged both of my maculae!  As the months wore on, there was no improvement, and my doctors told me there was nothing more they could do.  I was facing no more painting…ugh…or reading…or driving…But, that all changed after Dr. prescribed the appropriate magnification for all of my goals.  Yes, it’s true my eyes haven’t improved but I now have the sight to do all I would like to!
