Major Objectives

Practice Management

  • To teach optometric students how to build successful private practices by utilizing specialties.

  • To help students understand that clinical excellence is tied to their income.

  • Teaching students that they can be successful without working in a commercial setting.

  • Teaching students how and when to use consultants and mentors to guide their growth.

  • Leveraging people and resources to optimize practice growth and patient outcomes

Optometric Specialty Services

  • diagnosis and treatment of dry eye for moderate to severe cases

  • low vision

  • diagnosis and treatment of binocular vision disorders including vision therapy

  • Neuro-Optometric Vision Rehabilitation for mTBI

  • vertical disparity disorders

Major Accomplishments

Success in private practice

  • After receiving my OD license, I accepted a position at a private practice. Within 3 years I became a 25% partner. After another 3 years, I became a 50% partner. Then, I became the sole owner 11 years after graduating optometry school and have owned it until recently.

  • To increase the practice value, I followed my passion and added Optometric specialties to the office; such as scleral lenses, advanced dry eye, vision therapy, Syntonic Phototherapy, CRT, myopia control, atropine therapy, and low vision. Each specialty increased practice growth and our reputation in the community.
