Low Vision Devices Improve Quality of Life

When you see a low vision patient, please refer for low vision evaluation to determine which devices will help your patient achieve an improved quality of life. Low vision patients have said that when vision loss is significant that “anything is better than nothing.” Bi-Optic telescopes have applications beyond driving—in stores, classrooms, at work, while traveling, visiting museums, etc., and these activities are often at distances closer than 20 feet— distances where focusing is necessary. Bi-Optic telescopes are available in manual and autofocus. If you have a patient or loved one who struggles with reading, has difficulty reading their mail or has given up their favorite past times, such as crossword puzzles, low vision devices can help.
